Taycan GTS Sport Turismo Is Porsche's Rocket Wagon
Those seeking a high-performance EV wagon now have another solid option to choose from.
Growing Family
The Taycan hasn't been around for very long, but it has been a hot seller since its conception. Thus, the electric Porsche family continues to grow. The latest models to join this expanding lineup are the 2022 Porsche Taycan GTS Sedan and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo, which join the existing Taycan, Taycan 4S, Taycan Turbo, and Taycan Turbo S, slotting neatly in between the Taycan 4S and Turbo.

Street Focused
Porsche has been using the GTS moniker for years now on models like the 911, where it symbolizes both performance and luxury. That theme carries over to the Taycan GTS models, but the GTS Sport Turismo is undoubtedly the most interesting of the two. This hot wagon shares its utilitarian body style with the regular Cross Turismo, but is more focused on street performance rather than providing light off-road prowess.

Smack In the Middle
That means that the GTS Sport Turismo doesn't have the raised ride height of the regular Cross Turismo, nor its body claddings. Additionally, there's more than enough performance to back up its more sporty looks, provided by Porsche's front and rear permanent magnet motors that crank out 590 total horsepower, which lands it right in the middle of the 462 horsepower 4S and 670 horsepower Turbo.

Brisk Performance
The GTS Cross Turismo also comes equipped with the same 93.4 kWh battery pack as the Turbo and Turbo S, as well as an 800-volt charging architecture, which allows the battery to charge from 5-80 percent just over 22 minutes at max speeds. Performance is just as brisk, as one might imagine, with 0-60 taking just 3.5 seconds.

Range
Porsche neglected to provide any range figures for the new Taycan GTS models, but the 2021 Taycan Turbo equipped with the same Performance Battery Plus has an EPA estimated range of 212 miles. However, as we've seen in the past, Porsche tends to underrate these figures and all Taycan models tend to outperform them in the real world.

Suspension Upgrades
In addition to straight-line speed, the Taycan GTS family also features a host of suspension upgrades to make it go fast around corners, too. Those improvements include a unique calibration and tuning, as well as six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes, though buyers can also upgrade to ceramic and tungsten-carbide-coated units. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, an adaptive air suspension, and the Sport Chrono Package are available as options.

Price and Availability
In the looks department, the Taycan GTS stands out thanks to its SportDesign front fascia and side skirts, high-gloss black side window trim, high-gloss black rear diffuser inlay, GTS badging, black-tinted Matrix PDLS Plus headlights, and satin black 20-inch Taycan Turbo S Aero Design wheels, with a Race-Tex interior package upgrading the cabin. The price for all this goodness starts at $132,750 for the sedan and $134,350 for the wagon, while deliveries are expected to begin in Q2 of 2022.
